John Hayes MP, haven't you got anything better to do?
Over the weekend I was contacted by BBC TV Look North to do an interview, today, on the prisoners votes case. Apparently, John Hayes MP, the Conservative Member of Parliament for South Holland and The Deepings, across the Humber Bridge, is making noises to the effect that he is against convicted prisoners getting the vote. My first reaction was "who?". So, I thought I had better check this plonker out and Googled him. He exists, that's about all you can say for him. His Conservative Party profile states: "He has been Secretary of the Agriculture Select Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Backbench Education Committee". Right, so it appears that he is suitably qualified to speak out on this issue does it? According to conservativehome the Tory Leader, David Cameron, has attacked Labour for its knee-jerkism. Certainly, there are some within the Labour Party who suffer from this disease. John Reid has a bad case of it. However, so it would seem has John Hayes...
