Margaret Hodge MP goes Barking mad and joins the BNP

It would appear that Margaret Hodge MP, Labour for Barking, has gone barking mad with racist outpourings more in keeping with the BNP.

UPDATE: Downing Street supports Margaret Hodge's racist rant.

Sorry my ol' chops but apart from her immediate thought of trying to re-gain her seat, this is an issue close to the people of the area. The people of Barking have seen many foreign nationals housed in abodes which should have gone to local people who who have been on the housing list for many years. They are now looking at ref-you-gees of either economic or other status coming in and being awarded immediate housing along with clothing, food and bedding vouchers IN FRONT of locals who have as I have previously said been waiting for MANY years.

No wonder the BNP are picking up votes.

There is no way that you could call me a racist as you know my ethnic background, even my own dad is sick to the back teeth with these people. HE can't even get the same rights as the immigrants and he has been paying into the system since he got discharged from the army. Not only that, these poor "immigrant" people are running pickpocket gangs around the Barking area targetting old people like my mother. She was recently targetted by one of these gangs in a charity shop but was alert and courageous enough to confront the "gang of three operatives". I was fucking livid.

My mother also tells me that the bedding which these people receive from the government are routinely taken down to Barking Broadway where these nice people try to sell these effects to passers by to get money. I can only assume that they either have enough warm bedding at home or they are confident that the government will stupidly supply more to replace the "stolen" bedding.

Before I started work on my old house this morning I sat on the couch waiting for my body to catch up with my mind. ( I suffer from CFS as you know) I watched "The Wright Stuff" on teevee and one of the items on his show was about this issue. Mr. Wright ranted and raved to his guests about how racist this MP's remarks were. He did not give any fair chance for any of his guests to speak freely and this made me swear at the teevee as I do when in my shakey state.

I felt very happy, when in the closing moments of Matthew Wright's piece on this subject that he had to admit that EVERY SINGLE phone call to the studio favoured giving public housing to British people over immigrants.... EVERY SINGLE phone call..... He looked like a little boy that had been told off by an adult.

I rest my case. There is no way that anybody could call me a racist due to my origin.

  3. That's what gets me Ron. Because the BNP are picking up votes, she has gone along pandering to whims to try and get some votes back.

  4. Downing Street? C'mon Jailhouse NOT Downing Street ... a couple of DL chancers.

"British People" DO get priority for social housing. NAS (Asylum) most use private landlord accommodation or councils with lots of hard to lets. If "immigrants" get housed first it is usually because they take hard to let homes that British People have rejected over and over again.

  5. PS

What good does voting BNP do for people in Barking btw? They are shit representatives. Electing them drives down property prices. Gets an area a bad name. Lots of thugs and nutters.

Even Lib Dems are better. (joke)

  6. Chris: The BBC has updated the link which did proclaim "Downing Street supports Margaret Hodge".

The problem is that the BNP has gained support in Barking.

Tony Blair's New Labour is old Tory, he took the centre ground when the Tories went far right. Now they are all fighting for the centre ground.

She lurched toward BNP territory, it has the effect of making them sound reasonable. Bad move.

It's like the East Europeans being accused of taking British jobs. They are only doing those we don't want. The same with accommodation, I wouldn't take what was offered on some of the estates in Hull.

JHL: That was why she lost her seat in the first place. Pity she is now seen to be trying to shut the proverbial stable door now it is all too late.

Re: the eastern europeans and jobs thing? My brother in law was recently called in to the site office where he is a JCB driver, along with all the other chaps on the site and told that if they didn't take a substantial pay cut the firm would give them all their notice and hire eastern europeans who would work for much less. This is not the fault of the easterners BUT it IS a nasty vile tactic employed by greedy, profiteering british businessmen.

On a lot of sites now pay levels have sunk to a level where it is only suitable if you are a migrant worker without an english mortgage to pay. To help the situation along, the government has relaxed quite a few rules and regulations to allow employers to take advantage of the new-found cheaper labour market. My bother in law has just had to sell the house that he slaved hard for over the past fifteen years and move into rented accomodation as he couldn't keep up the mortgage on his reduced pay scale.

The problem is not the newcomers but our greedy government and advantage taking employment system which now seems to be hell-bent on reducing britons to forlock tugging underdogs.

Oh, Chris. I feel I must tell you that I have been on the housing list for Barking for the last twenty years. Yes, I have a family and a need to move to the area to care for elderly relatives. We just don't stand any chance of getting a foot in the door.
