What child abduction?

Stop the Maddy madness now. I find it incredible that the media keeps referring to the missing Madeleine McCann as having been abducted. I await one shred of evidence to support the media claims, which the media is announcing as a fact. Take one step back. True, Gerry and Kate McCann are alleging that Madeleine has been abducted. And, that is all there is. It is wrong to assume an allegation is true just because it is stated to be the case. The hue and cry goes up and the witch hunt begins. In my view, the hunt has set off in the wrong direction. The hounds are seeking non existent scents to follow. I would suggest that it is now time to back track.

Kate McCann is constantly photographed holding Madeleine's favourite Cuddle Cat toy in her hands. Kate McCann is a professional, not a child. The toy is not Madeleine and is not a substitute. It is not the toy that is missing, it is Madeleine that is missing and her whereabouts that is the puzzle. It would appear that a smokescreen has been deployed.

Madeleine's disappearance would have been questioned sooner or later. Questions would have been asked of Gerry and Kate McCann. There needs to be an explanation. It's the old locked room mystery. Whilst Gerry and Kate McCann were having a meal away from the flat, they claim that Madeleine was abducted. They claim that the flat was broken into. However, there is no evidence to support this claim. Still, it is unthinkable that Gerry and Kate McCann are in someway responsible for Madeleine's disappearance so a search begins for an abductor or abductors.

There is a publicity drive to say that Madeleine is missing. I think it is safe to assume that Madeleine is missing. Are the McCanns spin doctors? It has turned into a very profitable business. Meanwhile, the McCanns are said to pray morning and night for the safe return of Madeliene, and have visited a church. I have as much faith in prayer as I do in the publicity machine generated by the McCanns. I think it is right that the Algarve police are facing criticisms over the handling of this investigation. It's turned into a pantomime. I have one suggestion to shout to the chief police investigating officer, Guilhermino da Encarnacao, and that is, "They are behind you!".

UPDATE: "It is unusual for a small child to go missing without a trace - the majority of child abductions involve a family member".

UPDATE: Here.

I am surprised that no one has picked up on the possible, maybe probable conflict of interest of the Ambulance chasing Law Firm, The International Family Law Group.

Not only are they directly profiting from this case, the last time I heard they had sent two Lawyers to be on site with the family in Portugal. They are also collecting the postal donations for "Madeleine's fund" , the very same fund that will be paying their Bill.

I would imagine a lot of people are thinking what you are thinking but are afraid to say so publicly, rather like MPs being afraid not to wear Yellow Ribbons at PMQs. Am I right in thinking that in the UK the Police would have initially treated the family as suspects, if only to rule them out as suspects?

Quite amazing that Blair hasn't gone on Television stood in front of the Leicestershire shrine, calling Madeleine the People's Little Girl.

  2. I will be interested to see how much is made in donations to the "fighting fund", and what percentage is taken by the law firm in bills and expenses...

I Heard on Radio 4 news tonight that the International Family Law Group are THE organisers of Madeliene's Fund.

This has to be stopped NOW. At the moment the Nation is too emotionally involved to come to terms with what a potential Scam this could be.

  4. That's right. It's one of the reasons which makes this case stink to high heaven. This firm makes money out of other peoples misery and the more funds that they generate from playing on peoples emotions the richer they become. Nice isn't it?

  5. Well, if something like this does turn out to be what has happened, they'll find themselves the most hated pair possibly in British history. The tabloids will certainly not take kindly to being so deceived.

  6. Septicisle: I agree with the first part of your comment. As for the second, they only have them selves to blame. Andrew Brown commenting on the Ministry of Truth on another thread stated: "A journalist shall strive to ensure that the information he/she disseminates is fair and accurate, avoid the expression of comment and conjecture as established fact and falsification by distortion, selection or misrepresentation".

This is the BBC's view "Madeleine, from Leicestershire, was abducted as she slept in her parents' holiday apartment in the Portuguese resort of Praia da Luz on 3 May".

They have broken the first rule of journalism. Stick to the facts.

I don't expect that the McCanns will return to England as they may well face police questioning of a different nature. As I understand it, they will be traveling around Europe in search for their daughter. I would call it going on the run.

I find it quite amazing that in all the words written about this case, there has not been one in depth report on what happened on that night.

  8. It would appear that the McCanns have led the distraction, which in itself is suspicious.

Too much has been taken for granted, and if we are going to get to the truth uncomfortable questions need to be asked.

Looking at just one News source to try and gain some consistancy, in this case the BBC. The details reported of what happened that night seem to not only vary day to day but hour by hour.

The first report on the 4th May. Leads with "Toddler Abducted" but reports "may have been abducted"

A Family friend says the parents had been checking on their Children every half hour.

Madeleine's Aunt in Glasgow says Kate(mother) went back to the apartment at 10pm to find the door open, the windows tampered with and the shutters jemmied, she (Aunt) is certain that Madeleine has been abducted.

The resort Manager says "It's still questionable as to whether it's abduction",

On the 5th May the BBC reports that the Aunt in Glasgow says They(parents) went back at 10pm

Also on 5th May there is this report from a local leaving her Sister's house
"When she left the house at 10pm - around the time the McCanns returned to their apartment to find their two-year-old twins still there but Madeleine missing - the streets were deserted, including the one by the McCanns' back gate"
    No commotion?

On 6th May the story changes yet again.
"Madeleine, who turns four next Friday, was last seen by her father at about 2100 local time.

When Mrs McCann went to check on her about an hour later, she found the bedroom's outside shutter and window had been opened and her daughter missing."

  10. You are right to be concerned The Children and Young Persons Act covers "wilful neglect" which includes leaving " a child unsupervised in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health "

In the US there is an offence of "reckless endangerment" which is much the same.

The press reporting of the first hours after the discovery of her absence is (given you cannot move for reporters in the town) is lamentable.

It seems evident now that no forcible entry was made to the children's room - although first reports (some as pointed out conveyed by family mambers in the UK who can only have had a family source in Portigal)suggested there had been damaged shutters.

Even reports of the distance of the restaurant from the apartment - surely easily checked, vary enormously in news reports.

Timings vary, again, surely a relatively easy mater to establish, frequency / number of visits by either parent, whether the apartment was locked, the level of alcohol (if any) consumed by the parents.

Time and again one is drawn to question quite what the role of Clarence Mitchell who is a top Civil Servant in the Downing Street Press machine - which has earned itself such a fine reputation for accuracy is, and why he is involved (presumably at public expense)at all.

On top of all this haze of half truths and elisions is the evolution of the "official" website, formation of the Company Limited by Guarantee to handle the fund (refused charitable status) and appointment of staff and officers and the role as mentioned of the Intl Family Law Grp.

Whilst one does not wish to intrude on the personal grief of the parents (although they do little to prevent it)there are aspects of this case which leaves many people very uneasy and that uncritical acceptance of the story of "abduction" by person or persons unknown should be tempered with rational judgement.

It is to be noted from the "official" website that the current account of the McCann Fund has remained stubbornly at £313,091.17. since mid-day on 25th May.

Ready to bear the financial brunt of the McCann European Tour no doubt.

As to the fingering of Mr Murat by the Press - that is another story.

I think you all need to get a heart. Take those blinkers off and start thinking like a human being. She is missing and needs our help to return back to her loving family. You people make me sick! There are to many off you in the world. This isn't a public debate it's a missing child!!

  15. anonymous 7.03: That sounds like a worthy cause. I will sign it if I can find the link. As you can see it has not come out very well in your comment.

anonymous 3.23: As you say, it is a missing child case. Which is exactly my point. Just because there is a missing child does not make it a child abduction. There could be another explanation other than that offered by the McCanns for Madeliene's disappearance.

anonymous 3.27: I'll try to get one just for you...

anonymous 3.32: I suspect that it is the McCanns themselves who have been hindering the police investigation.

Are you a parent? Is there a limit to what you would do for your missing child? I find your comments insensitive to say the least. Lacking compassion, and judgmental. All parents would move heaven and earth in a similar situation, and the McCanns are doing just that.

    ReplyDelete
  17. anonymous 10.36: You are forgetting that the McCanns left their children unsupervised for 3 hours whilst they drank and had a meal. I am referring to the two youngest, because no evidence has emerged that Madeliene was even in the room when they went for a meal. Her disappearance, in my view, is down to the McCanns. That is, possibly one killed her and the other is covering up.

The first real promising clue, and the McCanns complain bitterly! WHAT? This is extremely weird. They and the police were informed of the letter before the newspaper published it. Why haven't the McCanns released some of the 721,000 Pounds Sterling in their "fund" to help finance the search in the field area?? Why don't we have firm details of their activities the night of May 3rd? There are MANY questions crying out for answers. And it is NOT certain that this was an "abduction" - the media should stop using that word. Why haven't we heard or seen interviews with the other members of the McCanns "party"? Four other couples with children, I understand - all leaving their kiddies alone! Why did the McCanns at first say they had left the apartment doors closed? Why did they at first say the shutters had been broken open? Why did their story change?? Btw, it is alarming to note that some people have left horribly vicious and/or obscene messages on the petition site (to Leicestershire Council), criticising those of us who believe the McCanns were negligent in child care.#

Well done, I dont know one single person who does not smell a big rat and is digusted by the actions of the grub parents.

I would love to donate to a " find the truth " campaign, and find out if a gagging order is on our press as they are acting so out of character. The British Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith has put gagging orders out there before and I suggest we all email him to ask if he has in this case and why?

I think it would be a good tie up for you to contact this man, he is doing a good job thus far but is not UK based.

I've just find this site and my heart is thumping and my head is racing...I've been saying the very things...ME THINKS THEY DO PROTEST TOO MUCH!
Look at the 'FAMILY' photos! The ones I saw at the very beginning told me that Madeleine was very much alone, isolated.
Religion?! If they were so religious, and God-fearing, why have IUF? Could it be that they felt guilty about this?????

What a sick minded, cruel person you are jailouselawyer. The McCann's are doing no more than any other parent would do in their position. Not only will I rejoice when Madeleine is found and returned to her parents but will rejoice in knowing that you have been shown up for what you really are.

When Madeleine McCann is found and safely returned to her 'parents' a great many people will be relieved and happy, especially me. I'm an old woman and I have difficulty sleeping just thinking about a 3yr old goin' on 4, being ... I don't know what...but, not being in her bed when her mother checked at ?10pm. Whatever it is that people are or aren't saying anonymous 7.17, should be taken as genuine concern for what has been read in the newspapers. We are outraged, sickened, frightened even, and frustrated. I made a vow a long time ago to not read any article connected with cruelty to children or animals,...but this case was unavoidable.

Good on you. There are too many unanswered questions here and it does appear to be a smoke & mirrors routine. I'm fed up of hearing how loving the McCanns were. Yet the min Maddy disappears they put the twins into a creche and galivant around the world. But this creche wasn't good enough to babysit that night! And yes has anyone seen one photo where the McCanns have their arms around Maddy? Every photo they're fussing over the twins and Maddy is left alone.

Lastly noone has commented on the oddly worded blog messages from Gerry and his friends. Almost as if it were code to get around their phones / emails being hacked. Look at the phrase, "Anyone who knows anything about what happened on 3 May would know that Kate must be innocent" or "Kate and I are 100% convinced of each others innocence". Almost reads like a warning to ensure their similarly negligent friends keep their mouths shut.
