McCanns accuse British police of secretly supporting them

British police tipped off suspected child killers Gerry and Kate McCann that their phones and emails were being tapped into by the Portuguese police - it is claimed. "A source close to the couple said: “British police warned Kate and Gerry when they were in Portugal that their phones and emails might have been tapped into”".

Perhaps, the Home Secretary Jacqui Smith would like to explain who authorised this interference with another state's jurisdiction into a criminal investigation?
