The paedophile Chris Langham, an actor, has been sentenced to 5 months imprisonment for downloading child pornography from the internet. Given that he admitted downloading the images, oddly, he pleaded not guilty, he says, because he claimed that he isn't a paedophile and wished to make a public statement. Even though the judge had indicated the serious nature of the charges and that upon conviction he intended imposing a lengthy prison sentence, it would appear that Langham was treated relatively leniently.
According to Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham: "There is no excuse for downloading and viewing images of child sex abuse.
"The video clips found on Christopher Langham's computer were a high quality reproduction of real children in real abusive situations.
"Paedophiles viewing images creates a demand which encourages others to continue abusing and hurting children".
