Fresh blow to Brown on detention plans

Fresh blow to Brown on detention plans

"The government's case for extending the length of time that terror suspects can be held without charge was dealt a blow today as it emerged that a group of MPs has concluded there is "no evidence" to support increasing the detention limit".

Whatever people may think about detaining people over 28 days, there is no doubt there is a need in some cases for more information to be obtained. I dont get the Liberal take about peoples human rights and all that spin. People have rights, I refer to the victims. A large amount of people support locking up people who want to take away the freedoms they are so used too. That does not mean that anyone should be detained, for example: plotting to speed down the road on a puch bike at 33mph. I take it the issue is terrorists or suspected ones.

When I refer to the rights of the people that means any colour or creed.

The idea that in this country the Police are going to pull any tom, dick and harry off the streets is laughable.

Society is going down the pan because in my view we worry more about the minority in this country, thats probably because some people are scared of what the majority may want.

I have an open mind and I want the best for everyone, to help the homeless, the starving, the poor, anyone I can. But I do not want our everyday news to focus on the wrong reasons.

I applauded the coverage on Madeleine McCann on this blog and no doubt you will continue to highlight what can only be described as a sham. Or scam?

However, letting the police do the job we all expect them to do and hopefully correctly is what I want. Not to panda to those who wish a Liberal society gone mad.

There are close on 60 million people in this country, It is a Great nation or I would like to this so. But, everyday there is yet another news flash that the vast majority of people couldn't care less about.

I always laugh when some people think the state is trying to control me! Keep tabs on me! are watching me! Yes there is so much data flying about even on TNT lorries. Does it worry me? No.
I am more worried about my family, the mortgage and my job. I do not need to worry about what some nutters are upto, thats the polices job, Not mine.

A group of MPs are wheeled out on a daily basis to say something or other, that's part of the job. We ordinary folk don't care about groups of MPs you know. Most don't realise that groups of MPs have even been wheeled out. Most want the government to do the job and not keep bothering us. We just want to get on with things, and all this stuff is getting in the way of our stuff. So if you want our vote don't bother us in between elections, OK.
