whats the point of this? Are you saying the prisoners should have phones or not?

Quite frankly, the point of being sent to prison should be about taking away the persons freedoms and reforming them so that they are able to live on the outside without the need of crime.

So why are they having them or are they allowed?

  2. anti liberals: Mobile phones are not allowed in closed prisons although those in open prisons are allowed to possess them when out and about on day release licence.

It's a breach of security that some prisoners are able to obtain mobile phones.

There is a security issue, however, I think it is time to allow prisoners to have mobile phones in their possession to maintain contact with their families and friends, if only because of the artificially high price of calls from public phone booths in prison.

  3. Well why not give them all a mobile. Supplied by the prison with only family numbers as calling contacts. Might work?
