A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate"
(Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.
They still don't get it do they? The louder they protest the more the public will think they do have something to hide, or more likely be ashamed of if it were made public. As for Mr. George's comments, the Cornish MP I presume, I would expect him to buy the cheaper brand of cornflakes if I am paying the bill as a tax payer.
BB: That was a red herring he was having for breakfast. It's not about which brand of cornflakes, but about a £60,000 wage, plus £20,000 living allowance, and to top it up over £100,000 expenses which can be used to buy groceries etc. I have to buy those from £55 per week. Why should they have an extra living allowance and then claim expenses?
Quite agree with you John. I just cannot see how any/some of these expenses are justified. As to hearing that Speaker Martin has said it is okay to shred expense receipts prior to 2005. I don't think that excuse would've have done my father any good when the Inland Revenue did him!
No surprises there then.
