Clegg defends Lib Dem EU stance
"Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has defended ordering his party to abstain from a Commons vote on holding a referendum on the new EU treaty".
Last night on Newsnight when questioned by Jeremy Paxman whether he had sought resignation letters from any LibDems intending to vote, Nick Clegg denied this. However, Michael Crick is reporting on the Newsnight blog that one LibDem MP front bencher has already tended a resignation letter.
