Socialism has died under the Labour government

Socialism has died under the Labour government

According to Newsnight tonight, the rich have got richer and the poor have got poorer under a Labour government. So much for so-called socialism. Whatever Blair was he wasn't a socialist. He chose not to tax the super rich non-domiciles. Apparently, their status goes back to the Napoleon War and it was decided that plantation owners were exempt from the 2/- in the £ income tax. I think it is time that this piece of history remains history, and the super rich of today get taxed the same as everybody else. I don't suppose I will hear the bastards getting hit in the pocket in the budget tomorrow. No doubt Darling will announce measures which make the poor even poorer still and the rich even richer still.

  1. John I always thought Tony Wots Name and the rest of his cronies were just Young Conservatives in Labour clothing when they took over the party.
Events have since made me more convinced that ever that the old Labour/socialist ideas had been ditched in favour of holding onto power.
Nothing, I repeat nothing, have they done has advanced the cause of social justice in this country one iota.
The Rich and Big Business have all benefited at the expense of the ordinary man in the street.
Betrayed ? I feel I have been stabbed in the back by the whole bunch of thieving tossers.
As for those old Labour stalwarts who have kept quiet for the sake of the party, I have nothing but contempt for them.

The poor have got poorer. The 10% tax rate goes this April, thus hitting the very poorest in society most. Don't blame Darling though, it was Gordon Brown's doing.
