If Ian Huntley wishes to commit suicide I would give him a razor blade
Having said that, the prison authorities owe him a duty of care to try and prevent self harm.
"Ian Huntley, the killer of schoolgirls Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, is receiving special treatment to stop him attempting suicide, it has been claimed".
I think the Daily Mail should be renamed the Daily Malice. Since the 1960s and 1970s prisoners in long-term prisons having been allowed to wear causal clothes. I cannot remember when I last saw a prison uniform being worn. If prisoners pay for their own clothing it saves the taxpayers money.
Since the 1990s all prison cells have in-cell TV, which prisoners pay a £1 per week to rent. Actually, this charge is unlawful and a breach of human rights. Again, since the 1990s prisoners have been allowed to buy CD players and game consoles. What do you expect them to do, wank themselves silly every minute of the day and night?
Calling prisoners Mr or by their first names is again something introduced in the 1990s.
Hasn't the Daily Malice got any news to print?
Is Frankland a maximum secruity jail?
ReplyDeleteI thought it only went up to cat.Bs
BB: Yes, Frankland is maximum security. There are no Category A prisons, only Category A prisoners.
ReplyDeleteIt goes back to the 1960s, and the Mountbatten Report. He recommended a purpose built Cat A prison to house Cat A prisoners. However, subsequent reports recommended dispersing Cat As throughout 8 Dispersal Prisons.
The downside is that the majority of Cat B prisoners suffer higher security for the handful of Cat A prisoners.
What a completely dishonest piece of non-journalism...
ReplyDeleteWhite Rabbit: Isn't it just?
ReplyDeleteThanks John, I was abit confused over it all.
