Thief absconds from open prison then asks to be taken back in
I wish the Daily Telegraph would desist from reporting upon people escaping from open prison. For the benefit of the editor of the Daily Telegraph, it's escape from a closed prison and abscond from an open prison. As for cushy prisons, it's a constant worry being on the run, always having to look over your shoulder, so the apparent freedom becomes a kind of prison of one's own making, and I can understand why this chap threw in the towel and handed himself in to the authorities.
