Brown told detention is excessive and out of step

Europe's human rights commissioner is to write to Gordon Brown this week warning him that the proposal to detain terror suspects for up to 42 days without charge is an "excessive" measure that will put Britain "way out of line" with the rest of Europe and will prove counter-productive.

It is all very well Brown saying the government will listen, when clearly on this issue it is not listening. I have just been told that Brown has pinned his colours to the mast on this one. Let's hope it sinks like the Titanic...

Thanks for the link John, that article is quite damming and probably the most informative that I have read on this 42 days fiasco.

Gordon Brown should be ashamed of himself.

  2. Now we have Blinky Balls telling us our glorious unelected Leader does not consider it a vote of confidence.
The spineless twat - and I leave you to work out which one I meant!

The real voters who fear for their safety, want the bad guys locked up for as long as is necessary. They really don't care that much if occasionally a good guy is deprived of his liberty by mistake. Mistakes happen and we will be sorry for that innocent, but not sorry enough to have our lives put at risk because of what a bunch of brave bloggers think is important.
