Councils told to stop snooping
Councils are to be ordered to stop using controversial snooping laws to investigate petty offences such as dog fouling, littering and breaches of school admissions policies.
Councils urged to stop snooping over 'trivial' offences
Town hall leaders were warned by the head of the Local Government Association (LGA) they risked alienating the public and being stripped of the right to use spying methods.

Not before time! This kind of surveillance has echoes of Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia.
Perhaps we should all support David Davis in his campaign against this sort of thing. Other politicians can't abide him as he's actually on the side of the public while they're all obsessed with their expenses.

This is fine as long as they keep the cameras in the women's public toilets.
