Ex-policeman held in 'abuse' case
An ex-police officer has been arrested in connection with an investigation into abuse allegations at a former care home in Jersey.
The 50 year old was arrested in Jersey on suspicion of "serious crimes" at the Haut de la Garenne home and elsewhere on the island.
The home is at the centre of a wider inquiry into abuse on Jersey.
The ex-policeman's is the fourth arrest as part of the inquiry and the third connected with the former care home.
BBC News has been told he had served as a police officer in Jersey in the 1970s, and during that time he had also worked as a volunteer at Haut de la Garenne.
No wonder it went on so long and undetected...
