Barking mad in Hull

Barking mad in Hull

I am rather confused whether the Humberside Police, Crown Prosecution Service or their dog behaviourist is barking mad, or whether they all are?

A Park Warden claimed my dog Rocky bit him on the ankle.

I was charged with common assault and being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control.

At the last Crown Court hearing, the CPS sought an adjournment to enable them to obtain a dog behaviourist's report in response to the defence dog behaviourist's report and DVD on Rocky following a one to one assessment session. The CPS sought a direction from the Court for me to comply with their request for access to Rocky for their assessment. The Court refused on the ground that the defence had given assurance that access would be allowed. As it happens nobody from the CPS, Police, or their dog behaviourist contacted either me or assessed Rocky in person. Nevertheless, their dog behaviourist prepared a report for the Court!

The opening paragraph of their dog behaviourist's report limits the remit to review and then offer an opinion on the DVD. Is the DVD subject to the provisions of the Dangerous Dog's Act? Does DVD really mean Dangerous Virtual Dog? The mind boggles. This dog behaviourist claims that he specialises in dog communication and that he is a dog listener. I wonder if he offers distant learning courses? Telepathic communication with the subject? If he listened to Rocky I wonder what Rocky told him?

I recall a prison law case whereby a judge gave short shrift to the validity of a psychologist's report where the "risk assessment" was conducted without interviewing the prisoner and based upon the reports of others.

  1. Stricty an expert can prepare a report on secondary material but if the primary material is readily available - well - I'm surprised...

    -is putting it politely-

  2. He was probably the cheapest dog behaviourist the CPS could afford, out-sourced to some Indian animal behaviour experts!
It just goes to show how our legal system is going more and more down the drain.
Yet we have so many lawyers in this government.

  3. WR: Obviously, I cannot go into detail with the report whilst it is subject of an ongoing court proceedings, but I suspect my barrister will be raising issues with it...

BB: Actually, I suspect he does not come cheap. I Googled him. Perhaps if you Googled the title of this post it might lead you to his webpage.

  4. There again dog behaviourist and barking mad would produce a better result on Google.

    John,

Dogs are loyal and protect their owners - sounds as if yours sensed a duty of care - bad vibes.

It's barking mad - society needs protection from menacing feral youth gangs. Perhaps they should be subjected to 'behavioural' reports and social training.

Your dog has a very intelligent face, by the way.

    jailhouselawyer,

Did the warden show you proof, teeth marks, bleeding wound or ripped trousers ?

  7. anon 10.17: Yes, Rocky is intelligent. In my neighbourhood I heard a gangmember say to another that Rocky is my guardian angel.

anon 10.22: There was a police photograph of a scuff or scratch on the Park Warden's leg, but the prosecution state that it is not evidentially sound. He could have got that from the top of his boots or from a rose thorn bush.

I have updated the post to include a link to the dog behaviourist. I have assessed my dog for over 3 years. IMHO Rocky is not a dangerous dog.

DVD - very, but very loosly perhaps "Derek v. Dudley", "webbed footed barking bollock"? No! Sorry, thought not. Dismiss me as barking mad, or indeed as a barking toad.

  10. Did the warden go immediately to hospital for treatment? Did the warden have an anti tetanus injection? What was A&E's findings on the dog bite? Did they check the wardens trousers? When did referral to the wardens doctor take place? What creams and dressings were used? When was the injury reported to the police? Why would a large dog bite an ankle and not thigh or fingers or an arm? Were their witnesses? Was Rocky threatened or did it look like the warden was threating you (body language or verbally) - there's a lot of issues here that I am not seeing explained, I mean explained in Court. The warden is not the innocent party as he is making out to be is he?

    jailhouselawyer,

The words 'unjustified', and 'targeted' come to mind.

Has anyone checked out the credentials of the Park Warden ?
They should - those monitoring sites know you're 'anti' McCann and they also know where and when you walk your dog.

There's a long list of innocent people in Madeleine's case who have been made to suffer, one way or another. You own a dog and so did Mr Amaral; his was killed - serious head injury - the result of his efficiency.

VERY SINISTER FORCES ARE STILL AT WORK.

    devonshire dumpling,

    You're absolutely right.

It sounds as if 'someone' has decided to target John because he 'airs' his firm beliefs about Madeleine's fate.

  13. DD: Your first 6 questions can all be answered with a negative. He reported it to the police straight away as there was a police inspector in a car relatively close to the scene.

Rocky did bark at the Park Warden because he was shouting at me and being aggressive.

According to the other Park Wardens, who both Rocky and I get on well with, they say he has a vendetta against me.

As you say, DD, he is not the innocent party he makes himself out to be. But, I also blame the council for encouraging him to hassle me.

I look forward to 8 September when the trial gets underway and my barrister can cross examine him in the witness box.

    john,

The 'Park Warden' could easily recognize you from your online photo.

    jailhouselawyer,

What are the odds these days of a police inspector happening to be parked near to a Warden who reported a minor scratch on his leg which he blamed on your dog ?

It's a set up ... waste of taxpayers' money and police time.

  16. Your dog bit a petty official?

Give him a pat from me - he's very intelligent dog if he did that.

  17. oh come now anon - if jhl is being persecuted because he thinks things aren't quite right with Maddy then I should have been offed ages ago because IMO they probably sold her to clear of their debts to their drug dealers.

Or maybe not - but I doubt that they aren't very closely involved in her disappearance.

    baht at,

It doesn't 'ring true' for many obvious reasons; it's a complete waste of police time and taxpayers' money.

Nothing exists to uphold the cause of the Warden's minor scratch.

    John,

You have my sympathy; the Warden sounds like a deliberate troublemaker.

Oh, come on baht at, sold their child ?? !!

Dream on; Mark Harrison's the best in the field; homicide - children reported missing by their parents. The evidence of death and disposal in Madeleine's case is overwhelming.

I want to say from the start that I am rather biased in matters like this...

I have to concur with the CPS on this matter as when I visited your house, Rocky savagely attacked me right on the dog chews....
