Most people turn to the internet for breaking news
Most people turn to the internet for breaking news
Nice to see you used a Mac for your illustration John! I do agree with you assertion though about turning to t'internet for breaking news. The Radio Four news programs are so much drivel, nowadays I find myself listening to the headlines and then switching off.
I watched an interesting documentary on the history of the British press; it's influence has been surpassed by the internet.
I learned from 3 A's that the Government's Media Monitoring Unit was used to 'watch us' and that 'keyboard monkeys' are employed to influence/disrupt and distort.
Whilst we can enjoy privacy reading hard copy news, Big Brother 'keeps an eye' internet usage. It's open to abuse, breach of privacy rights and laws. Several Councils have 'spied' on residents without just cause. Spyware was used to monitor a family who applied to send their children to a certain school !
