Tory Party in £6M donations from money laundering scam
Tory Party in £6M donations from money laundering scam
ConservativeHome is reporting from the Sunday Times "Lord Ashcroft, deputy chairman of the Conservative party, has channelled money into party funds from the Central American tax haven of Belize, despite a ban on overseas donations".
In a related story: "Stargate has channelled £6m to the UK in the past three years, a large chunk of which appears to have ended up in the Conservative party accounts. The offshore company appears to have alighted on a lawful scheme that circumvents the banning of foreign donations to British political parties".
If money is clean in the first place, it does not require laundering. That this gangster from Belize who made his money from drug dealing, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, is allowed to affect politics in this country requires sorting out. He does not pay taxes, his place of residence is not in this country, the money that should have gone to H.M. Revenue and Customs is instead being used to finance the Tory Party.
In Short, dirty money dirty party. If the Tory Party is not prepared to clean up its act, then the government should step in and do the job for them.
jailhouselawyer,
ReplyDeleteMeantime, Liberal Party MP's have called for an enquiry into £6 m annual management fee costs of NHS private funding initiatives and lack of competitive tendering.
MPs are also calling for a full Government enquiry into the appalling 'cover up' in the Jersey Care Home.
