Motorist who paid 'overzealous' parking fine with toilet paper escapes further penalty
A motorist who paid an "overzealous" parking fine with a cheque written on toilet paper has claimed a victory for common sense after he escaped a further penalty.
Richard Roper, 63, of Long Melford, Suffolk, was instead ordered to spend just over an hour at the back of Sudbury Magistrates' Court.
A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.
Loo roll is a useful thing and I bought 24 rolls yesterday.
