Sara Payne to become Government's first Victims' Commissioner

The mother of a murdered schoolgirl is to become the Government's first Victims' Commissioner.

Sara Payne will represent the interests of those affected by crime and will have an office at the Ministry of Justice. She will work three days a week as a paid consultant.

This appears to me to be a pointless appointment and a pointless waste of money.

just when i thought the government couldnt bend backwards further for victims... Justice is meant to see that both criminal and victim is dealt with fairly, yet straw is more concerned with media approval. Truly, a tragic little man, standing in the corner shouting, "please like me".

The lady's joined the quangocracy, she'll never look back. We'll probably never hear of her again, as with all those other "tsars" appointed by the government.
I wonder how much we're paying her for this non-job.

I had a shit this morning and some of the shit stuck to the side of the bog. My missus had to clean it off with a brush. I have therefore appointed her to the post of "Sticky-Shit Removal Commissioner" on a salary of £15000 p.a., paid for out of the public purse as she obviously knows how to deal with this re-occurring problem and can advise on how to avoid re-occurrence of the sticky shite in the future.
