Words v censorship: and freedom to blog

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I was not a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

n.b. See post below.

Hat-Tip to Cherrypie in the comments for reminding me in these troubled times of this brilliant song Christy Moore - Yellow Triangle.

    And when they came for the people who shopped at Woolworths I remained silent;

    I do not shop at woolworths (although my misses did ESPECIALLY when we were on holiday and in EVERY FRIGGIN' TOWN on holiday she sought out and found a friggin' Woolworths. Feck!

    I had the last laugh, though! Haha!
