Prison officer faces data charge
A prison officer has been charged over the alleged sale of inmates' details to a newspaper.
The 41-year-old man, from Tyneside, is due to appear before magistrates in Consett on Tuesday.
Durham Police said the misconduct in public office charges relate to the officer's work at the city's Frankland high security jail.
A spokesman said the officer's 45-year-old brother would also appear in court charged with aiding and abetting him.
The prison holds 750 inmates, including those classed as high risk category A.
