Drone used to monitor BNP event

Drone used to monitor BNP event

A drone fitted with video cameras will be flown over a British National Party gathering in Derbyshire after dozens of protesters were arrested last year.

Police are using the plane to monitor the event near Ripley on 15 and 16 August and any protesters who turn out.

Last year police arrested more than 30 protesters near the site off Codner Denby Lane, but no-one was charged.

Officers said it would cost "about £500,000" to police the event. The plane will be used to record evidence.

I think the police should bill the BNP for the half a million pounds...

Police flew a helicopter fitted with cameras over the Thimbleberry Rock event a couple of years ago to photograph because it wasn't a BBC moneymaking event, it was just a load of old hippies enjoying the music. HOWEVER they left the "T in the Park" event alone because it was a government recognised event because the BBC were there and the tickets cost an arm and a leg, but they conveniently ignored the fact that at this event there were loads of pushers there shoving "E" and "SKAG" to the festival-goers because it was a government approved festival. (They had a lot of tax money coming back to them)

If the BNP could provide a source of big tax dollars then the goverment wouldn't give two fox what they did... truth....

Why the f..k should the BNP pay the £500,000 for these drones? They haven't asked for any police involvement; and as was the case last year it won't be the people attending the event who'll be causing trouble.
