Sikh causes a riot
A Sikh police officer has been awarded £10,000 in compensation after he was ordered to remove his turban for riot training by Greater Manchester Police.
I am against discrimination. However, this case highlights compensation culture gone mad. I fail to see how a sergeant saying "Can you take that thing off?" amounts to harassment and led to suffering psychological damage, injury to feelings and personal injury. It is alleged that so sick was the Sikh he is on "recuperative duties".
"999 police please it's an emergency..."
"I'm sorry I cannot turn out because someone called me a towel head!".
If someone cannot do the job they should not be in the job.
For once...I am speechless.
ReplyDeletePc Singh is still employed by the force on "recuperative duties" but hopes to return to full operational duties.
ReplyDeleteWELL HE IS PLAINLY INCAPABLE OF RETURNING TO FULL OPERATIONAL DUTIES IF HE REFUSES TO WEAR ISSUED PROTECTIVE UNIFORM OR TAKE MANDATORY TRAINING
