Parliament must debate and change prisoner no voting law before Xmas

Apparently, “Parliament exists to challenge the work of government, approve new laws and debate government policy and current issues”.

Government policy in the Prisoners Votes Case is to ignore the UK's obligation to abide by the European Convention and European Court of Human Rights decision.

The Committee of Ministers yesterday issued this Press Release: "United Kingdom: the Committee of Ministers asks for rapid adoption of the necessary measures to execute the case of Hirst (No. 2)".

Those in Parliament need to get their snouts out of the trough and get a move on with this issue now, because if it is left until after the next General Election Parliament will lack legitimacy for 63,000+ convicted prisoners.
