A fugitive who taunted police by updating his Facebook page while on the run from an open prison in Suffolk has been sentenced to six months.
Craig Lynch, 28, was given the jail term at Woolwich Crown Court for one count of escaping from lawful custody.
He absconded from Hollesley Bay Prison near Woodbridge in September and was arrested in Kent on 12 January.
It used to be the case that a prisoner could only be chrged with escape if he actually broke out of prison, and absconding would be dealt with internally. How times have changed.
