A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate"
(Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.
Bloody hell. I've always enjoyed a fag just because it was a fag. Now that it's a way of sticking up a finger to the self-righteous my pleasure has quadrupled. Lighting a roll-up for you now, Nick!
Quote: "Mr Hogan represented a very small minority and we approached him on numerous occasions about his actions. Before the smoking ban came into force the council adopted an educational approach to enforcement and the majority of local businesses were supportive of the ban." Unquote"
Mr Hogan represented a small minority because HE WAS THE ONLY ONE WITH THE GUTS TO STAND UP TO A FASCIST DICTATORSHIP. Everyone else just tugged their forelocks and said "yus , my lords, anything you say, my lords"
Its a pity that while so many seemed "supportive" of the ban,(the coucil's own words) so fucking many of them went out of business BECAUSE of it! Thats what you get for not standing up for your rights.
And as for the comment from ASH "A spokesman for anti-smoking lobby group ASH said: “The smoking legislation is very clear. Having exposure to tobacco is a serious health issue and by allowing people to smoke in a pub he was putting the health of all his customers at risk.”
So why doesn't this big-mouthed "spokesman" go into the houses of parliament and barrack THEM about smoking in public places i.e. the house of commons and the European parliament building, both given exemptions against the ban because they said that trying to enforce the law there would be "unenforceable". NO IT ISN'T! You throw a number of MP's into the slammer, just like you did to that poor landord! I see that the law wasn't "unenforceable" in his case, was it?
I need some oxygen.....I just cant believe this
