Judge Lady Smith: Get a fucking life!
Grandmother jailed over WWII 'family heirloom' pistol
A grandmother has been jailed for five years for possessing a "family heirloom" World War II pistol.
Gail Cochrane, 53, had kept the gun for 29 years following the death of her father, who had been in the Royal Navy.
Police found the weapon, a Browning self-loading pistol, during a search of her home in Dundee while looking for her son.
She admitted illegal possession of the firearm, an offence with a minimum five-year jail term under Scots law.
This senile toffee-nosed rich bitch old judge, has gone past her sell by date if she cannot tell the difference between an exceptional circumstance and some chav possessing a gun in Manchester or Liverpool! Duh!
The Second World War lasted for 5 years. The government has ignored a court ruling to give prisoners the vote for 5 years. This Grandmother made the mistake of not being born as Lord Ahmed, who used his car as a weapon to kill a Eastern European whilst he was using his mobile phone. He was only sentenced to 3 months and released within 2 weeks!
Justice and the Law. Distant relatives. Never speak to each other.
ReplyDeleteBring back the Mob.
They're terrified of any citizen being armed.
ReplyDeleteCompletely crazy what has this country come to!
ReplyDeleteCP: I hope she appeals and it gets overturned!
ReplyDeleteIf they came around to my place and saw my arsenal it would be a case of just throwing the key away!
ReplyDeleteAnyway just to be pedantic, was it really a Browning?
As all the ones I've handled have been Belgium (Fabrique Nationale) made, whilst the reports state it was a Czech weapon, which leads me to think it is a Armádni pistole Vz.24.
Anyway the sentence was stupid and I hope she does win on appeal.
BB: Glad to see you are back again.
ReplyDeleteIf only the politicians would stop interfering with judges' discretion when sentencing, Lady Smith could have been lenient and compassionate. However, whoever the judge had been in this case, they would HAVE to have passed down the sentence decided by the politicians. Five years. Lady Smith didn't have any choice.
