John Hirst and Rocky not guilty again!

John Hirst and Rocky not guilty again!

I appeared at Hull Magistrates Court again this morning to face a charge under s.2 of the Dogs Act 1871, and was due to appear again tomorrow to face a charge under s.5 of the Public Order Act 1986, however, the Crown Prosecution Service offered no evidence and withdrew the charges which resulted in not guilty findings being returned.

Apparently, the park keepers and PCSO's in Pearson Park are not very happy...

  3. Charles: Indeed. Indeed. I was never in any doubt at the outcome. However, the CPS case which was weak to start with was seriously undermined when Hull City Council sent me a threatening letter during the court proceedings. My solicitor and I jumped on this opportunity to cut a long story short, to allow me to concentrate on Xmas celebrations, and the CPS was persuaded to drop the matter.

  4. Louise h: It should be now as part of the deal was to put on record the victimisation I had suffered from the park keepers and PCSOs, and a strongly worded letters of warning will be sent to the Council from both the CPS and my solicitor to ensure that this is now the end of the matter.

  8. Great news. What a relief. Always knew Rocky was a good dog, a happy trusted dog, who never showed any aggression to our 3, and when we found out Rocky was threatened we were shocked. I don't know if you ever knew Angela who was a park warden. She loved dogs, and I can't imagine she'd have supported the wardens who so patently had it in for you and your dog. Happy times ahead to you and Rocky!
