Man senternced to 30 years for not actually doing anything!

The Daily Telegraph reports...

British Airways bomber jailed for 30 years

A British Airways worker has been jailed for 30 years for plotting with a senior al-Qaeda planner to smuggle a bomb onto a trans-Atlantic aircraft
.

The reality is that Rajib Karim is not a "British Airways bomber" because he did not actually bomb anything. His only "crime" is "thought crime", that is, he only thought about committing the act of bombing a plane. The plans found on his computer could just as easily have been the plot for a novel as a plot to commit an act of terrorism. It would appear that he is more a fantasist than a terrorist, a Walter Mitty character.

In my view, 30 years for nothing is far too severe. 30 years for what might have happened in the future is ridicolous, because it could just have easily not materialised. I hope he appeals against conviction and sentence.
