Health update
Well, after a chest X-ray and CT scan we still do not know what the shadow is upon my right lung.
However, it is now known that I had pneumonia just after Christmas. This was probably caused by Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the most common lung diseases. Smoking is the leading cause of COPD. The more a person smokes, the more likely that person will develop COPD.
I have to go for another appointment with the consultant in 3 weeks. Meanwhile I have to have another chest X-ray. Then a biopsy to examine the shadow on my lung.
It is now thought that it might not be lung cancer.
Still, the consultant said she is very worried about the emphysema. I have been given a couple of different types of inhalers.
I'm glad it's probably not the big C.
ReplyDeleteYou're not out of the woods though. Look after yourself while they get to the bottom of it.
Good-oh, that fat lass ain't sung yet (we don't count Don't cry for me, emphysema). Very relieved and pleased for you, John (fingers lightly crossed).
ReplyDeletePromising news that it is probably not the big C.
ReplyDeleteJust take care of yourself :-)
Some very good news there John but it looks like life still has a few more hurdles for you to overcome.
ReplyDeleteGood luck.
