A present fit for the Queen

A present fit for the Queen

As regular readers of Iain Dale's Diary will be aware it is not the type of carriage s/he prefers to drive. However, this one is not for the Queen of the blogosphere. Rather, it is for The Queen. In the same way that Iain Dale is just another blogger, the late Queen Mother is famously reported to have quipped about the Royal Household staff, "There are several queens in Buckingham Palace, but only one Queen Mother".

Personally, I prefer "the ultimate machine", BMW, to the Audi. However, even I would prefer an Audi rather than drive the carriage pictured above. As grand as it looks, I believe that it is well over priced at £620,000. Are there not charities in Australia which could have benefited more with this kind of cash outlay? Does The Queen really need another carriage? What's wrong with the one she already has pictured below?

Wait a minute? The Daily Telegraph is as dishonest as Iain Dale. They are one and the same. So, why has the Daily Telegraph tried to deceive its readers with this caption beneath their photo? " The carriage which was designed and built in Sydney by Jim Frecklington Photo: SNAP".
