Home Secretary makes concession in terror detention row
Do they not have a kitchen sink in the Home Office? According to conservativehome.com "Jacqui Smith will offer Parliament bigger scrutiny role in bid to pass 42 days detention law". Parliament has shown itself as being incapable of subjecting MPs expenses to proper scrutiny. Given this, how can they be trusted on something as serious as protecting the liberty of the subject against arbitrary detention?
