Is Tom Harris MP the boring Ken Barlow of the blogosphere?

Is Tom Harris MP the boring Ken Barlow of the blogosphere?

The Glasgow MP’s attacks on Britain’s benefits culture have estranged him from the Labour party. So why did he do it?

"Harris’s blog, And Another Thing, is fast becoming the Coronation Street of the political blogscape — it may occasionally be banal but it is gathering a large following".

Just so as not to leave you out:

I am NOT pleased with Mr Harris. He has twice spiked posts in a thread he started on his blog - apparently on the specious grounds that they were “factually wrong” - they were completely accurate - or “too offensive” - ie inconvenient to Tom Harris.

He thus allows only one side of an argument to be put - the one convenient to Mr Harris’s original point of view.

Any mention of papal responsibility for a couple of million AIDS deaths is completely banned as he has made clear in correspondence - because he doesn’t like it. Such a point was entirely germane to the thread and the challenges laid down as well as being true.

It’s not how one expects an MP to behave. Mr Harris pretends democratic debate; he doesn’t practice it.
