I have only had a computer for 14 months and blogging for a lot less time than that, and I set my sights on getting within Technorati's 100,000 by the end of the year. I cracked it within 4 months. I started the day at 100,627 and discovered that a couple of other blogs had linked to a post of mine and then I saw that I was now ranked 98,081. The champagne bottle cork hit the ceiling and now its party time!
I will have to set my self another goal...
UPDATE: Woke up with a bit of a headache this morning. The suffering was somewhat soothed to see that my ranking has gone up overnight to 95,727...

this is probably stupid - but could you tell me what Technorati is and why would anyone want to be inside it? I think I might like to be there too though I don't yet know why...help please..

I cannot believe my spelling or rather mis- hitting , nor that I forgot to check it - sorry to be so sloppy. Is there a way to remove it I wonder?

It's a search engine that tracks 75 million blogs in the world, and when you join it ranks you according to the links that come into your site and to those that you link to. How many visitors you get etc. If you use tags, then anybody searching for information gets your tag and visits your site to check it out.
I am not that computer literate, and do not understand everything about it, but it has improved my traffic and I get visitors from all over the world.
