The War Against Terror turns on Death Row inmates

The war against terrorism is now being turned against Death Row prisoners in America as George Bush desperately seeks a presidential legacy before he leaves the Whitehouse. The move is designed to remove the right of appeal of prisoners sentenced to death and speed up their executions. Whilst Governor of Texas, George Bush, set the record for the highest number of State executions. That must make the Red Neck feel proud at having so much blood on his hands. The plan is to make the Attorney General and the Justice Department the final arbiter on whether an execution should go ahead, rather than at present where the decision rests with the federal courts. As the US Attorney General, Alberto Gonzales, is pro the death penalty, this will mean that there will be a bias against the inmates on Death Row.

America killed one Death Row inmate per week last year. However, "To date, 123 prisoners sentenced to die have been proved innocent and released. Anti-death penalty activists and lawyers have raised serious doubts about hundreds of others". Recently, I reported on the case of the Brit who was on Death Row for 20 years before having his death sentence overturned by a court.

Thank you for the article.

It is no secret that the Bush regime revels in death and destruction, so it is no great surprise that this is his next move. Ah, what a legacy it is. He should be the one sitting on death row for all of the war crimes he has committed. But I digress.

Those in control of the various countries of the world all have one thing in common. They all (or surely most) lack a conscience. Nor do they have any empathy or even know what it is. This is the reason our world is in the shape it is in today.

There is an article that really hits home about those that are in the White House in Washington D.C. It is titled, "Insiders and Outsiders in Washington" and you can read it here:

It shows, very concisely, just what is going on here in this topsy turvey world.

Thanks again for you article.

suzanne: I tried the link and it did not work. I also tried Insiders and Outsiders in Washington on Google first with quotes and non of the 3 entries matched, and without quotes there were just too many to go through.

Hmmmm, maybe you need to put the www. before the "tinyurl" for your browser. Sometimes that is the case. The link is working for me.

If it still doesn't work, just go to their main page, the article is there with many, many more interesting articles on all kinds of topics.
