Why we should be afraid of the Tory Party

Why we should be afraid of the Tory Party

The Daily Hitlergraph reports Human Rights undermines public safety, says Tory. "The Human Rights Act has undermined public safety and led to a "rights culture" developing in the UK, the Conservatives said". In my view, this is highly irresponsible reporting by the Daily Telegraph and is worse than the prank played by Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand on Andrew Sachs. Moreover, my advice to the Tories is if they wish to win the next election then they need to bung up the mouth of the loose cannon Nick Herbert. And my advice to the public is, the Human Rights Act is there to protect you and not harm you and to be wary of why the Tory Party want to abolish the human rights of citizens in this country? Hitler first removed the rights of those destined for the gas chambers...

politicians will always rail against human rights, as they fear and hate anything which restricts their power. They wernt keen on democracy, let alone anything else that may empower people.

The Conservatives are right - the purpose of the Human Rights Act has been systematically convoluted and abused.

We are each of us protected by the rights afforded by Law as opposed to Nulabor's threat and bullying diktat. Hitler was a megalomaniac.

anon- we may all be protected by the law, but that law may be torn up to suit governnents diktat. Hence the hitler reference. Human rights prevents govt from being so dictatorial. Human rights have not been abused, though they have made it harder to abuse unpopular groups.

prisongurur,

'Human rights' is the means by which the English 'natives' are oppressed in favour of non-nationals.

No law may be 'torn up to suit government's diktat' .....

anon - any govt with the right parliamentary majority can pass any law it chooses, there is nothing in our constitution to stop that - except our external treaty obligations, such as the ECHR. Human rights are hardly foreign, we wrote much of the convention. It is merely our arrogance and hubris that persuades us that we are so perfect that surely we dont need human rights law. I cant begin to understand what you mean re natives and foreigners. Explain.
