Prison Officers arranged Huntley attack

Prison Officers arranged Huntley attack

Prison boss under fire over Ian Huntley attack

It is understood that it is being alleged that the militant Prison Officer's Association, through some of its members at Frankland Prison, arranged for Ian Huntley's recent attack in a political dispute with Governor Dave Thompson.

The dispute began after 3 prison officers were attacked with a broken bottle, and the POA wanted the Governor to put the Prison on a "Lock Down" to conduct a full scale search for weapons, but the Governor refused their demand. There followed an industrial dispute when "A number of staff refused to unlock prisoners at Frankland Prison, in Durham City, at lunchtime yesterday, before negotiations brought the situation to an end". The Prison Officers also conducted a vote of no confidence in Governor Dave Thompson.

Ian Huntley is in the Segregation Unit, and is supposed to be subject to a policy of not being let out of his cell whenever any other prisoners are unlocked. And, no other prisoner let out of their cell whilst Huntley is out or his cell is unlocked.

Hardly a shock is it? Prison Officers arrange a lot of things don't they? Like smuggling in drugs, having sex with the prisoners, amongst a few to mention. Whilst I will keep my opinion about Huntley to myself, I am wondering if the likes of Colin Moses, who whinged not long ago that his prison officers were being subjected the threats and violence from inmates, tolerates his screws organising violence amongst prisoners? Glen Travis is exactly the same, gob on legs, always wittering on about how hard done to his HMP soldiers are!
