Watching and waiting for the sea eagle

Watching and waiting for the sea eagle

There is real excitement on the Solway coast of Cumbria.

A white-tailed sea eagle has been spotted feeding on the beach there for the first time in more than 200 years.

I know I have already posted on this story, but this repeat performance is just for Cherrypie, this time the photos are of the actual white-tailed sea eagle;)

Thank You :-) He is magnificent, I would have loved to have been there to see it.

It reminds me of the time a Buzzard flew silently over my head and landed on a telegraph wire just behind me.

Cherrypie: When I was in HM Prison Gartree, Leicestershire, 1982/3, sparrows would nest under the guttering of the Segregation Unit roof. I would watch a Sparrow Hawk hovering by the gutter after the chicks in the nests. The birdlife equivalent of a take-away.

And, at Long Lane, between Dunswell and Woodmansey, near Beverley, I would quite regularly see a kestrel. Marvellous birds of prey.
