If anything stinks it is Michael Portillo talking out of his arse
Michael Portillo describes as a terrorist act the blowing up of Pan Am flight 103 "Apart from the many Britons killed, 189 Americans had been murdered on a plane from Heathrow". By contrast, when the US blew up an Iranian airliner with a missile, Portillo conveniently describes this act as a blunder! "In July 1988 Iran became another when, through a blunder, an American missile brought down one of its airliners".
According to Portillo, Kenny MacAskill did not release Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed al-Megrahi because he is dying with prostate cancer, rather it was "simply because he is unwell"!
A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.

I was on the motorway down to Carlisle for a gig just after the incident.
Like many others, I slowed down for a look but saw nothing due to the big fence that had been put up.
Such a fence.
I always wondered how quickly that had been arranged.

You know very well where we agree and disagree, but the intersecting Venn diagrams are pretty close, in general.
And, I am happy for that.
Should we get an opinion piece from Gerry McCann saying why this release is an outrage, I would not be surprised.
