Man jailed for 'worst' child porn

Man jailed for 'worst' child porn

A man found with images of "the worst child abuse ever seen" has been jailed for an indefinite period.

"He would serve a minimum of two years before being considered for parole, Southwark Crown Court heard".

The worst child abuse ever seen and yet a minimum of 2 years?

Only 2 years?

The key word here is minimum. Still, given his track record it does seem scary that he could be out in as little as 2 years.

Yes the use of the word minimum is a little odd isn't it?

Okay - what's going on here is this: he's got an IPP (indefinite sentence for public protection)= life inprisonment in effect, the sentence does not have a definite end. But the judge has to work out what he would have given him but for the IPP. The answer must be 4 years - so he halves it for early remision. Four years is at the top end of the bracket for this amount of non-comercial possession of indecent images. And when he does come out he is in effect on life licence.
