42 days detention will breach human rights law
The government's concessions on 42-day pre-charge detention for terrorism suspects have left the legislation in breach of human rights law, the joint select committee on human rights will say today.
Given that I have already reported on terrorism legislation being used upon civilians who have got no connection with terrorists, if the law was passed how long before it is used against those who don't pay TV licence fee or council tax?
A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.
