
MS sufferer's landmark win in right to die case
A woman with Multiple Sclerosis has won a crucial stage of her legal battle to be allowed to commit suicide abroad with her husband's help.
"Debbie Purdy, who is confined to a wheelchair, wants to able to die in a clinic in Switzerland when her condition becomes unbearable.
But she fears that if her husband, Omar Puente, helps her on her final journey he may be prosecuted in Britain for assisting her suicide.
Miss Purdy, 45, is attempting to force the Director of Public Prosecutions, Sir Ken Macdonald, to disclose whether or not he would pursue Mr Puente".
