Foreign national prefers British prison to deportation
It is being stated that a foreign national is exploiting a loophole in the system by remaining in prison once his sentence has been completed rather than face deportation. However, I would argue that the deportation order is not legal therefore his continued detention constitutes false imprisonment. In my view, the country of origin must be known otherwise it creates an absurdity. How can you send someone to No Man's Land?
A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.
