Jon Venables: Sunday Mirror accused of inventing recall reasons
The Sunday Mirror headline reports "Jon Venables sent back to prison over child porn offence"
"James Bulger’s killer Jon Venables was sent back to jail on suspicion of child porn offences, the Sunday Mirror can reveal.
The reason for Venables’ recall was kept secret by the Government but we can exclusively reveal that probation chiefs revoked his licence once the allegations had been made.
Venables, 27, has been in constant rehabilitation for torturing James to death.
But if he has committed offences involving child porn while being supervised by probation officers the revelation will send shockwaves through the criminal justice system and will also raise questions about the virtually unprecedented rights and privileges he has enjoyed since he has been released".
I get the distinct impression that the Sunday Mirror is not revealing any such thing. Rather, I get the impression that they are on a fishing expedition. Seeking an explanation from Jack Straw by making wild accusations in the hope that this media blackmail will produce results.
I note that the News of the World is reporting the same story and also claiming it as an exclusive.
A mixture of law, politics, autobiography and humour. Once described as "The Devilish Advocate" (Guardian), I do have the ability to provoke a response. Sometimes it comes from someone who uses a thought process, and sometimes from jerks usually associated with the knee.

Knee jerk, knee jerk, good old rabble rousing Mirror.
I take it that by "unprecedented rights and privileges" in the context of his alleged new offences, they mean that he has been able to enter internet cafes, or, God forbid, actually have had an internet connection.
