Madeleine lay dead in apartment between 2-4 hours it is claimed
Most of the Sunday newspapers are running reports of an interview which Kate McCann gave last week and stated that she wanted the story to emerge in the Sunday papers. How very obliging of the British media to allow themselves to continue to be manipulated by the McCanns. I note that they are still reporting Madeleine's disappearance as an abduction. As though this was a fact, rather than stick to the truth which is that it was Kate McCann who first made the claim that Madeleine had been abducted. The Portugese police have not found any evidence to support this claim.
Yesterday, I reported that the Portugese police are concentrating their investigations upon the McCanns and their circle of friends in an attempt to discover the facts about Madeleine's disappearance. According to this report, hopefully a better translation will be available soon, Madeleine lay dead in the McCann's apartment for between 2-4 hours. If this is the case, it would seem pointless that an abductor would bother taking away her dead body. A more likely explanation would be Gerry McCann disposing of her body, to hide a crime, and the child abduction story developed to explain her disappearance.
I note that Kate McCann is saying that they have not committed any crime. I have already posted that in my view child neglect and/or abandonment is a crime under English law. I also note that Kate McCann is sticking to the lie that the children were checked every half hour, during their 3 hour drink and meal session at the tapas bar. The staff at the tapas bar state that they did not leave the table once until 10 O' Clock. I also note that the distance between their apartment and the tapas bar has now shrunk down to 20 yards. It must have something to do with erosion of the coastline. Why doesn't some investigative journalist simply take a tape measure and measure the distance?
According to Kate McCann, she knew instantly that Madeleine had been abducted by the state of the apartment. However, she fails to illuminate us as to what exactly she meant by the state of the apartment. What were these clues? Certainly, neither the Portugese police nor the resort's owners support any break-in theory. The odds are that it is an inside job. Madeleine is missing and so is a blanket from the apartment. What a pity that the two main suspects, Gerry and Kate McCann, allowed a crime scene to become contaminated. Unfortunately for them, it has not thrown the sniffer dogs off the scent.
UPDATE: A better translation from astro here.
Something which has been bothering me for a long time is, who was the last person other than the McCanns to see Madeleine alive?
As Mrs McCann tucked Madeleine into bed after a fun-filled day at the Algarve apartment where the family was on holiday, the little girl told her: "Mummy, I've had the best day ever. I'm having lots and lots of fun." It was the last time Mrs McCann saw her daughter.
The creche was open that Thursday May 3rd. My reading of what Kate McCann is saying is that instead they spent the day in the apartment. If I was writing the report, and it was different, I would write "tucked Madeleine into bed, after a fun-filled day, at the Algarve apartment". Therefore, the fun-filled day could have been spent elsewhere. If they did spend the day at the apartment, nobody other than the McCanns would have seen Madeleine alive on the day she disappeared. And, if the sniffer dogs scent is anything to go by, Kate McCann was tucking up Madeleine's corpse. I suspect that only the twins were in bed at 7pm.

Innocent until proven guilty
The Resident
By: Ruth Sharpe
ruth@portugalresident.com
ROBERT MURAT arrived in Portugal from the UK on May 1 this year for one of his regular visits to see his mother and girlfriend. Three weeks later, his “life has been ruined” after being named the only suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
In the words of Gerry McCann when asked about his feelings towards any potential suspects, he said: “I hope that they are treated the same way as they are at home and considered innocent until proven guilty.”
The Resident spoke with several of the Murats’ closest family friends to gain an insight into how they are coping with the media intrusion into their lives.
Jenny Murat moved to Portugal over 35 years ago and has since run several businesses in Burgau, Almadena and Praia da Luz. Robert, 33, grew up in Portugal until he was 16 and attended local schools Barlavento and the International School of the Algarve. His father died when he was 12 years old.
Tuck Price has been acting as a spokesman for Jenny and Robert since their house was searched on Monday, May 14, and has known the family for more than 10 years. He said that Robert was a “generous and helpful man. He likes to help and I think that is something that should be rewarded as opposed to being frowned upon”.
Robert is well known for his love for his family and devotion towards the young and elderly, especially his grandmother who died last year. Since then, he has spent his time working on his grandmother’s house in the UK in order to rent it out as he and Jenny were keen to keep the property in the family. His plan was then to move back here permanently to start up a business with his girlfriend Michelle (Michaela Walczuch).
“He is very in love with Michelle. They were looking forward to setting up Romigen, an online website where you pay to advertise your property,” said Price. The name Romigen stands for Robert, Michelle and Genesis, the latter word symbolic of ‘a new beginning’.
Another item reported in the news questioned why Robert Murat hired a car in the days following Madeleine’s disappearance. Tuck Price explained: “The police had asked him to come to Portimão to help with their investigation. One of his cars was being repaired and the other was being used by his mother, so he had to hire a car to get himself to Portimão. The police know this and are not investigating it as suspicious.”
When speaking about the actions of Sunday Mirror journalist Lori Campbell, who went to the police about her suspicions of Robert, Price said: “I’m sure she is starting to regret what she said.” Several Praia da Luz residents have expressed anger towards Campbell’s actions which have had such a negative impact on the community.
According to Price, Robert feels terrible about how this has affected his family here and in the UK and is almost punishing himself because his arguido status has been the cause of such grief.
Long term resident, Bridget Hicks, is one of Jenny’s closest friends and has known her since 1981. She has spoken with her several times since the house search on May 14. Bridget said: “Her strength lies in the fact that Robert was with her at the time of the abduction. Although nothing can compare with the heartbreak of losing a child, thought should be also given to the mother of Robert.”
Kate Roberts, who works in a fashion boutique in Praia da Luz, has also known the Murats for a long time; in fact, it was Jenny who gave Kate her first job at the garden centre in the nearby village of Almadena in the eighties. “Robert is just not capable of doing something like this,” she said.
Sally Vincent from Burgau has known the Murats since the family moved here and watched Robert grow up. She described him as calm, gentle and “very devoted” to his daughter.
The Resident spoke with a Murat family member who could not make any official statement but confirmed that Max Clifford was currently looking after the wellbeing of certain family members.
Sources close to the Murats have confirmed that Robert was contacted again by the police earlier this week and that he is allowed to travel freely as long as he informs the police of his whereabouts. These sources also confirmed that the Murat’s pool was not drained during the May 14 search and that there was no phone call from Sergey Malinka to the Murat house on the night of Madeleine’s disappearance.
The media intrusion now means that Robert’s family in Portugal and the UK are in hiding and some in need of police protection but, despite this, they remain positive and are grateful for the great support they have received from the community.

anonymous: Thanks for your spam. However, Robert Murat is not the subject of the post. Nevertheless, I agree innocent until proven guilty. The sooner the McCanns are put to the test the better...
Oh god that was nauseating.
"I love Madeleine and I'm a totally responsible parent and that's the only thing that keeps me going. You don't expect a predator to break in and take your daughter. It is important not to lose sight of the fact that we haven't committed a crime. Somebody has. They took our daughter."
Apart from neglect.
zinzin: What break-in? Does she know something that the police and the holiday company don't know?
There are now two Portugese newspapers refusing to go along with the abduction story. Both are now reporting that the sniffer dogs have detected the smell of death in the apartment.
"What break in?" good point. Hey left them unattended for three hours how would they know if it was a break in?
One of nine. The nine being friends and family.
Mrs McCann, who attended mass with her husband, Gerry, in Praia da Luz, said: "I feel like I'm the unluckiest person on the planet at the minute."
Thinking back to the night of Madeleine's disappearance, she added tearfully: "I feel desperately sorry to her that we weren't there."
There was no comment from the McCanns on reports in local newspapers yesterday which claimed police believed sniffer dogs had identified signs of a dead body in the McCann family's apartment.

zinzin: The break-in story was the McCanns. The police examined the apartment and found no signs of a break-in, and the holiday company also examined the apartment and found the same as the police.
Astro's Tranlation of Today's news from Portugal (and still the UK Media are not running with it)
in Jornal de Noticias this morning:
Blood in the McCanns’ bedroom
Traces of blood from a dead person, presumably from little Madeleine, have been discovered on a wall in the bedroom that was occupied by the McCann couple, in the apartment at the ‘Ocean Club’, in Lagos, from where the girl vanished on May 3. This fact locates the child’s death inside the apartment, but the investigators do not take it as certain that this was a homicide, although according to the clues that were collected by forensics experts, somebody tried to clean up these traces. On the contrary, JN knows that the explanation that is seen as more likely at the moment to explain Maddie’s death – practically given as certain – is that this was an accident.
New elements of proof were apparently discovered early last week, through the use of dogs that are specially trained to detect the biological residues of dead persons, independently of the time that has passed after they were left. Investigators are convinced that the blood belongs to Madeleine, but they wait for more detailed analysis in order to confirm their suspicions.
The day before yesterday and in the early morning yesterday, the McCanns’ apartment was still being subject to intense technical examinations by the PJ’s technical staff, namely using ultra-violet light sources. JN could witness that numerous pictures were also taken.
New interrogations
The discovery has led to an entirely new perspective on this case and may focus the investigation on the child’s family circle and the McCanns’ close friends. The possibility of new interrogations on these persons has not been dismissed.
Almost 100 days after the english girl disappeared, while her parents were dining in a restaurant that is located approximately 50 metres from the apartment, the case investigation seems to be coming close to its final. It is now clear to the Policia Judiciaria that the child’s death happened inside the bedroom. But there is still a lot of doubt concerning the body’s destiny.
Intense searches made during the last days in the garden of Robert Murat’s house, were an attempt at clearing this aspect, but apparently without any results. Yet, JN knows that the searches will intensify over the next days, in various locations. Many of these, that were already inspected before, will be analysed again by the dog that was brought in from England.
Joana case
But the discovery of the body may not be determinant in order to close this case. We just have to remember the case of Joana, the 8-year old girl that disappeared from the village of Figueira, in Portimao, in September 2004. Her body was never found, but her mother, Leonor Cipriano, and her brother were condemned to prison for 20 years and 4 months, and 19 years and 2 months, respectively.
Contamination eliminated
JN also knows that one of the main concerns of the investigators was to eliminate any doubts about a possible contamination of evidence, which has been done succesfully.
Since the day Madeleine disappeared, dozens of people went through the McCanns’ apartment, including police, family, friends, hotel staff and even dogs.
In the investgation’s initial phase, over 300 biological residues were collected by elements fron the Judiciaria’s Scientific Police, and then analysed at the Instituto de Medicina Legal.
Even after the inspectors’ work in the apartment was considered finished, there were other people inside. Since June 11, the apartment was rented to other couples on holidays by the ‘Ocean Club’.
JN knows that any possibility of clue contamination was definitely dismissed.
Dogs distinguish residues of dead people
They are trained to detect biological residues and they are able to tell whether these belong to a living or a dead person. The dogs that were brought to Praia da Luz by english police can trace corpses, or even a skeleton. The resies’ age is not a problem either. Therefore, their capacity is extremely important. “These dogs were trained just for this function”, a source with GNR said, adding that this mission “is not specific for one dog race”, but “is all about the training that is given”. In Portugal, there are no dogs trained for this type of action, but according to our source, “that is a future goal”. The sniffer dogs that are used by GNR and PSP are trained to detect people’s odors. “The person may be alive, and that makes it easier for the dog. If the person is dead, the animal can only detect her smell if the death is recent”, the same source explained. In the searches that were done in the garden of Robert Murat’s house over the last two days, english police used a border collie race sniffer dog. In order to evaluate if the soil was hiding anything, holes of half a metre were made, using steel cables, but the animals detected nothing.
Robert Murat is confident and continues to plead his innocence
Francisco Pagarete, Robert’s lawyer, did not offer any comments on the processual diligences that were done in the garden of Casa Liliana. He assured that they “counted on the collaboration from Robert Murat and his mother”. Not speaking many words, the lawyer also pointed out that the arguido was “cooperative” and by the end of the actions he was “confident and satisfied”. Now, according to Francisco Pagarete, Murat awaits the result of the diligences “in order to quickly prove his innocence”. The diligences may determine the change of the coaction measure that was applied to Robert Murat. The police is still trying to discover whether or not there is a connection between the anglo-portuguese man and the McCanns or their friends.

In the article about Murat, I read this;-''He is very in love with Michelle. They were looking forward to setting up Romigen, an online website where you pay to advertise your property,'said Price. The name Romigen stands for Robert, Michelle and Genesis, a new beginning.' Unquote. Thought you might be interested to know that David Payne, the husband of Fiona Payne, both 'friends' of the McCanns and part of the holiday group, is the Associate Director of Genesis. Check it out. Logicman has the article.
anonymous: I remember reading about Romigen. Can you give me a link to the Logicman page?
Mirror forum, the tapas 9 - Where were the other children? Page 21. I'm not sure if they are one and the same, but have a close look at baldy with Kate McCann, and the genesis consultant. You'll find both wedsites there along with other interesting info.

There was a film made (I can't remember the title). The story goes as, the mother burst into the hospital covered with blood, that she's been attacked and claiming that somebody took her child. The detective went on to investigate, nearly convinced of the abduction. Only in the end, the detective was able to see the true story, that she gave cough medicine to her child so that the child will be asleep while she go on a date. Coming back home and finding her child not breathing, she asked her date to help her dispose of the child's body.
Hope this is just a fictional story and don't happen in real life.
