Madeleine: Spin doctor to act as PR for the spin doctors McCann
The former government spin doctor, Clarence Mitchell, has today resigned from his job as head of the Media Monitoring Unit, within the Central Office of Information, to start work tomorrow morning for the McCanns as their official spokesman. "Mitchell spent a month in Praia da Luz in the early days of the campaign to find Madeleine after her disappearance on May 3. He was sent out by the Government on 'consular assistance grounds' and was the architect of the McCanns' visit to meet the Pope and a tour which took in Spain, Germany and Morocco". I can see the book publishers and film companies lining up for this story.
Why would a man like Clarence Mitchell leave a comfortable job with the government and a nice pension to work for suspected child killers? Ok, so Richard Branson and his business associates also support suspected child killers, and he will be getting paid a large salary. This is not about finding Madeleine. This is all about Gerry and Kate McCann's public image. If it was all about Madeleine, the McCanns would not have swapped the roles as medical doctors to become spin doctors. And now, a third spin doctor has joined the firm. If the McCanns were interested in Madeleine they would have told the truth in the first place, and the truth requires no spin because it stands up on its own merit. However, the McCanns decided instead to spin a pack of lies. Between them they are suspected of having killed their 3 year old daughter Madeleine and disposing of her body on their last day of a holiday in Portugal.
The McCanns are not the Posh and Becks of Rothley in Leicestershire. In prison terms they are nonces. The lowest of the low. They have not become infamous because he is a world class footballer and she used to be a singer in a girl band. Their infamy has arrived through child neglect and/or child abandonment, whilst they went out for meals and drink sessions with friends, leaving the children home alone, and surprise, surprise, one ends up going missing. They claim that a paedophile abducted Madeleine. The Portugese police, and FBI, suspect the McCanns killed and disposed of her body. The English police, well, we don't know what they think yet because the case has not been handed to their jurisdiction. But, according to a McCann spokesperson, the Social Services in Leicestershire have decided, after an hour's investigation, that the 2 year old twins are not at risk. Personally, I would prefer it if any statement was to be made by the Social Services that they made the official statement themselves and not through a relative or friend of the McCanns.
"Meanwhile, according to Portuguese press today, the McCanns have reneged on their promise to return to Portugal if requested by refusing to go back voluntarily to the Algarve for further questioning. They now say they will only go back if forced to legally". This from the couple who claimed that they have got nothing to hide. First they hid in Portugal to escape the English authorities, then they fled back to Britain to escape the Portuguese authorities. Why don't they stop running and answer the 66 questions which the Portuguese police feel they need to answer to clear them from any blame? Kate McCann failed to answer 40 questions and Gerry McCann failed to answer 22 questions.
It doesn't matter how much whitewash Clarence Mitchell applies to the stones unturned the blogosphere will continue to turn them over in the search for the truth.
