Texting peer freed after appeal
Allowing Lord Ahmed's sentence appeal, Lady Justice Hallett said that the imposition of a prison sentence in his case had been justified.
I am unable to discover any grounds for appeal, let alone why the Court of Appeal "exceptionally" decided to free him and suspend the sentence. In my view, it was corruption which let him get away with not being charged with death by dangerous driving in the first place. And even more corruption from the Court of Appeal. It is nonsense to claim his texting did not lead to the death of another driver.
