Police take two hours to respond to 999 call yards from station

A shopkeeper had to wait two hours for officers to respond to his 999 call after a man threatened to kill him with a spade - despite the police station being just 350 yards away.

"Mr Patel, who managed to scare off his attacker himself, did see a police man an hour after the call but claimed he walked past and into the nearby food shop".

I could be mistaken for thinking we are talking about Hull and Humberside Police...

Doesn't surprise me, I have had similar experiences. You are not allowed to contact the police station which is next door to the crime, you have to call 999.

... who pretend they're at home when in fact they're miles away.
