ISLAMIC law has been officially adopted in Britain, with sharia courts given powers to rule on Muslim civil cases.
The government has quietly sanctioned the powers for sharia judges to rule on cases ranging from divorce and financial disputes to those involving domestic violence.
Rulings issued by a network of five sharia courts are enforceable with the full power of the judicial system, through the county courts or High Court.
Previously, the rulings of sharia courts in Britain could not be enforced, and depended on voluntary compliance among Muslims.
It has now emerged that sharia courts with these powers have been set up in London, Birmingham, Bradford and Manchester with the network’s headquarters in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Two more courts are being planned for Glasgow and Edinburgh.
I fail to see what all the fuss was about Gordon Brown's Britishness test, if the government simply hands over to the Muslims dispute resolution. I did not study Sharia law for the simple reason that in this country English law rules. I accept that in some cases EU law prevails, this pisses off the Euro-sceptics, however we entered into this arrangement with our eyes open. When it comes to foreigners coming over here, or those born here of foreign parentage, the understanding is that the law of the country prevails. If they don't like it, tough shit. If they want to live under Sharia law, then they are free to fuck off to a country where it applies.
Issues involving domestic law are a matter for the English police to investigate, using English law, and decided in English courts. Under Sharia law, the male is entitled to chastise the female. It encourages domestic violence.

UPDATE: Sharia law explained. Given that it leads to violence between Muslim and Christian communities, why have it over here? Sharia law is for Islamic countries. England is not an Islamic country.

This is where multi culturalism goes t .... ts up. As with all the profound changes affecting Britain, Labour keeps it closely under wraps.
It must mean that our police have to study the 'ins and outs' of non British laws when summoned to incidents. What a shambles .... too busy form filling to protect the British under British law !!!
